THE SILENT REAPER.
Last Friday morning, August 9, Erick Gilbertson an old and well known resident of Decorah, passed away after a long illness from Bright’s disease. Mr. Gilbertson was a native of Norway, born in Christiania Sept. 8, 1846. Coming to America as a young man, he has lived in Decorah the greater part of the time, and was here married to Anna Moe, May 6, 1878. His wife died November 20, 1893 and he is survived by their six children Gustave, Herman, Alma, Florence, Lilly and Arnold. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the United Lutheran church, Rev. O. E. Schmidt officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Aug. 9, 1843, which does not agree with the above. He is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
