Mrs. Catherine Volman died at her home in this city on Thursday at ten p. m. She was taken sick on Sunday being overcome by the heat. The deceased was born in Bohemia June 9, 1846, where she lived until 1877 since when she has been a resident of this place. In 1878 she was united in marriage to Mr. Volman, to which marriage six children were born, as follows:--Mrs. Balk of this place, Joe of Prairie du Chien, Anton of Austin, Anna, Catherine and Mike at home. Her husband preceded her in death June, 1904. The funeral took place at ten o’clock from St. John’s church, with interment in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Vollman was a true Christian mother, a loving and devoted wife, and was greatly beloved by a large circle of friends The pall bearers were John and Wm. Sluka, Mat Houdek, Frank Schreiber, John Pelikan and V. J. Martinek.

Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways. Find a Grave shows her name as Katrina Vollman and that she was born in 1848. She is buried in St. John’s Cemetery. It also shows her husband was Joseph.
