Mrs. John Bunk died at her home two miles north of here last Thursday from the effects of cancer of the stomach. For the last six months she has been a great sufferer and death in her case was a relief. The funeral was held from the German Lutheran church Sunday, Rev. Guetzlaff officiating. The body was interred in Pleasant View cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Pleasant View Cemetery records shows this was probably Sophia Blunk. She was born Feb. 18, 1842 and died Feb. 27, 1913. (The husband’s name , the date of death and the cemetery agree with the above.)
