OBITUARY.
MRS. THOS. M. ANDERSON
On Sunday morning last, May 5th, after an illness of several years due to the infirmities of old age, Mrs. Maline Anderson, widow of Thomas Anderson, died at her home on Franklin street. Mrs. Anderson’s maiden name was Maline Acd. She was born in Norway and at the time of her death was in her eighty-third year. She was married to Thomas Anderson in 1851 and came to America in 1852. They came to Decorah in 1875 and here the family home remained. Mr. Anderson and two sons died some years ago. The only surviving member of their family is their daughter Anna (Mrs. Hanson) who has resided here for twenty years and during the long illness of her mother was her constant attendant. Mrs. Anderson is also survived by four grandchildren.—Arthur and Robert Anderson of Montevideo, Minn., Mrs. Nelson of Madison, Wis., and Harold, who made his home here. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the United Lutheran church, Rev O. E. Schmidt officiating and the remains were interred in the Norwegian cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her name spelled Malina. She was born Feb. 20. 1831 and died May 5, 1912. She is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery.
