This community was shocked Thursday evening to learn of the sudden death of Gullick Kittleson, at his home near Hesper. Mr. Kittleson has been failing in health the last year, but his death came very unexpected. Mr. Kittleson was a hard working man and operated one of the largest farms in this neighborhood until last fall when he moved to Decorah. But finding idleness irksome, he purchased his son Leander’s place this spring and moved back on the farm. But it was not his to enjoy very long. He had been in his usual good health up until Thursday, and was then not feeling very badly. Shortly before dinner he went out in the field where they were plowing to warn the driver not to drive the horses too hard to start with as the horses were soft so early in the spring. He had just started to return to the house when he fell over and did not rise. Help was secured and he was brought to the house, and seemed to rally for a while, but as there was not a doctor to be gotten, they all being busy or away, he soon lost consciousness and when a doctor finally arrived he had passed away.. We are without particulars for an obituary at this time. He was a man of some 65 years of age, an industriouss{sic}, hard working man and had accumulated considerable of the worldly goods. He was one of the pillars of the church and was liberal in support of church and school, a devout Christian a loving husband and father. He leaves to mourn his untimely demise his wife and four sons and two daughters, and several brothers and a host of friends.
