LITTLE GIRL DROWNED.
Anna Kast Meets Death in a Creek South of Ossian.
[Ossian Bee.]
Last evening between four and five o’clock, Anna, the 8-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Kast, was drowned, the little girl falling into the creek on the John Hageman farm, which is operated by Mr. and Mrs. Kast. The little girl was missed for about half an hour, and a search instituted. On approaching the banks of the creek Mr. Kast noticed the clothes of the girl protruding from the water. He immediately pumped{sic} into the water and brought to the shore the lifeless body of their only child. The water in this place is about five feet deep, and the supposition is that while walking along the bank of the creek she slipped and fell in.Source: Decorah Republican Apr. 18, 1912 P7 C3
