An Inexpressibly Sad Affliction.
On Sunday morning last the little so of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Reum of Outlook Sask., who was brought to Decorah several weeks ago by his grandmother Mrs. Clara Reum on her return from Canada, died from pneumonia after an illness of only a few hours. The little fellow had trouble with a cold and had been given proper care. At four o’clock Sunday morning he was suddenly taken worse and in spite of medical skill and most careful nursing died four hours later.
This is one of the saddest cases that has ever happened in this community. The little follow{sic} was the first born of Mr. and Mrs. Reum and was the light of their home. They had sent him here with his grandmother, expecting to come on later themselves, and his death came before it was possible to get word to them that he was ill. The shock will be a painful memory to cling to them for many weary days, and is as keenly felt by their relatives here. In their affliction the sympathy of the community goes out to them.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Frank M. Reum. He was born Oct. 27. 1910 and died April 1, 1912. He is buried in Phelps Cemetery.
