OBITUARY.
On Sunday morning last, the 24th inst., at three o’clock, Anna, wife of Oscar W. Bauder, passed away at the family home in the fifth ward, after an illness of nearly four months. Feeling from the first that her life’s span had been measured, when she became ill she set about “putting her house in order” and with patience and fortitude awaited the final summons.
Anna Evenson was born August 1st 1875, in Madison township, this county and the greater part of her life has been spent here and in the vicinity of Decorah. She was married in Chicago on June 17th, 1904, to Oscar W. Bauder. Two children were born to them,--a son and daughter,--and these with her husband, survive her. She is also survived by five sisters and a brother:--Mrs. Knute Moe of Baudette, Minn., Mrs. Emil Gulbrandson of Madison township, Mrs. G. Gilbertson of Bowman, N. D., Mrs. Gilbert Kaasa and Mrs. Albert Johnson of Northwood, Iowa, and Theodore Evenson of Ulen, Minn.
Mrs. Bauder was a woman of gentle, loving disposition, particularly devoted to her husband and children yet finding time to be a good friend to a host of acquaintances and a kind neighbor to those who lived near her. In their bereavement a wealth of sympathy is extended to the family.
The funeral was held yesterday, the service being conducted by Rev. I. B. Torrison of the First Lutheran church of which the deceased was a member and the remains were interred in the Norwegian cemetery.
