THE SILENT REAPER.
Mrs. John T. Baker, for the greater part of her life a resident of Decorah, but since 1908 living in St. Paul, passed away last Saturday morning, March 16, at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. W. D. Hunter, in Jackson, Minn., and on Monday the remains were brought to Decorah for interment. Services were held at the Episcopal rectory Rev. Wn. McVettie officiating.
Mrs. Baker’s maiden name was Victorial{sic} M. Relf. She was born at Mt. Vernon, Ohio, on March 22, 1841, and came to Decorah with her parents in 1856. She was married on June 20, 1866, to John Thurlow Baker. Four children were born to them, all of whom survive—Harry R., Catherine E., and Clara V. of St. Paul, and Flora (Mrs. Hunter) of Jackson, Minn. One brother also survives—W. F. Relf of Chico, Cal. Mr. Baker died in 1909.
Through her long residence in Decorah Mrs. Baker enjoyed an extended acquaintance and her friends were many. She was a woman of kind heart and will be greatly missed by both her family and friends.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she died March 16, 1912. She is buried in Phelps Cemetery.
