OBITUARY.
MRS. CHARLES PECK.
On Friday last news came to Decorah friends that Mrs. Charles Peck had died that day at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. C. Inman, in Davenport, after an illness of some duration, from cancer. The remains were brought here for burial on Saturday, Rev. McVettie officiating at the grave. They were accompanied by her husband, Mrs. Inman and Mrs. Will Peck of Chicago.
Mrs. Peck’s maiden name was Mary Carroll. She was married to Mr. Peck at Elliota, Minn., on May 17, 1868, and during the greater part of the intervening years the family home was in Decorah. Four children were born to them, the surviving ones being William of Chicago and Stella (Mrs. Inman).
The deceased was for many years a member of Grace Episcopal church and by her devotion to her home and her loyalty to her friends won the affection of a wide circle of acquaintances.
