Hesper was shocked last Tuesday morning when a telegram came from Esmond, N. D., saying Clara McMillen was dead. She was stricken with paralysis at first, from which she soon ralied and in a few hours all traces of the stroke had disappeared. But her heart was left very weak. After this was remedied hemorrhage of the lungs and stomach trouble set in and she only lived five days, dying March 6th. The remains were brought here for burial and funeral services were held in the M. E. church Friday afternoon. She leaves a husband, one daughter, a mother and four sisters, besides a host of friends to mourn her loss. Hesper friends extend their sympathy to the sorrowing ones.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born in 1868 and is buried in the Hesper Public Cemetery.
