The following obituary was handed us: “Rosetta Amelia Goodrich was born at Brockton, N. Y., April 16, 1845. In 1850 she with her parents moved to Clermont, Iowa, and lived in that vicinity until 1884, afterward coming to Castalia, Iowa, which has since been her home. On November 6, 1863, she was united in holy matrimony to A. C. Tatro. To this union were born eight children: Mrs. Flora Schroyer of Custer, Okla., Mrs. P. Cornell of Superior, Wis., Mrs. Nellie McMartin and Miss Omah Tatro of Castalia, together with the four sons Frank Tatro of Geneva, Neb., Ward Tatro of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mark Tatro of Bruce, Wis., and Charles G. Tatro of Castalia, who survive her. For the past two years she has been in failing health, suffering greatly since last July and in November her physician advised hospital treatment where she underwent three operations. She returned home the last of January with hopes of recovery but in spite of medical skill, and what loving care the tender ministries of her loved ones who were continuously by her bedside she gradually grew weaker and God took her Friday noon, March 3, 1911. In her last illness she manifested the same contented and cheerful disposition which has characterized her throughout life. While in the hospital her several physicians and nurses were won by her patience and her exceptional cheerfulness. Some years ago she became a member of the Methodist church of which she remained a consistent and devoted member until her death. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss twenty-four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. B. F. Dibble of Wenatchee, Wash., and Mrs. F. Goodell of Des Moines, Iowa. The funeral services for Mrs. Tatro were held on Sunday forenoon at the Methodist church and were in charge of her pastor. The music, consisting of hymns was in charge of Mr. W. K. Riggs. The floral offering were beautiful. Her loved ones mourn the loss of an affectionate mother, wife, sister, the community and the church in whose communion she was loyal a daughter” The funeral occurred from the M. E. church Sunday March 6, Rev. Tipton officiating. The church was filled to the doors by friends and neighbors who had intimately known the deceased for many years. The casket was covered with beautiful floral wreaths, tokens of love by the donors. The body was interred in Pleasant View cemetery. The friends of the deceased wish to thank all who so kindly assisted during the last sickness and burial of their loved one.
