Obituary:--Sunday afternoon occurred the funeral of Mrs. Ingeborg Wangsness, conducted by Rev. Neilsson. The deceased was born in Wangsness, Norway January 1, 1810, and died Thursday morning, February 2, 1911, ages 100 years, 1 month and 1 day. She was married in Norway to Nels Wangsness and in 1866 with their son settled in this country on a farm south of town. There they lived until two years ago when they moved to town. She survives her husband by about sixteen years. Six children were born to them, five of whom died when babies. She was making her home with her son Chris. Wangsness in Ridgeway at the time of her death. She will be greatly missed and it is quite remarkable so old a lady should have the retention of so many of her faculties. She was quite able to enjoy reading and could converse with as bright a mind as ever. She probably was as old if not the oldest resident in Winneshiek county.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she died Feb. 2, 1911. She is buried in the Lincoln Cemetery.
