OBITUARY.
ANDREW R. SEVERSON.
Andrew R. Severson died Sunday night at his home on west Main street, after an illness of some duration. Mr. Severson was a native of Norway, born in Sigdal on September 28, 1850. He was about a year old when his parents came to America, and he has been a resident of Winneshiek county for the larger part of the intervening time. Their residence was in Wisconsin for several years, later coming to Canoe township of this county. Mr. Severson left the farm when a young man, and has since made his home in the city. He was married in 1873 to Anna M. Matteson of Adams, Minn., who with their son Henry and daughter Mabel, survive him. One son, Albert, died in 1892. The funeral was held at the home yesterday afternoon at two o’clock, and the remains were placed in the vault in the Phelps cemetery.
