Sunday morning at his home in Calmar, John Peterson, Sr, after a lingering illness, passed away. He is survived by a wife and nine children, all of whom were present at the last sad rites, John, Edwin, Otto, Johanna and Emma, who reside here, and Mrs. G. Novak, of Wisconsin, Mrs. S. Hove of South Dakota, Mrs. A. Hegland of Red Wing. Minn., and Mrs. Ralph Sprague of Minneapolis, Minn. The funeral services were held in the Norwegian L. church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.

Transcriber’s note: Find a Grave shows he was born Oct. 7. 1827 and died Oct. 16, 1910. He is buried in the Calmar Lutheran Cemetery.
