Death of a Burr Oak Boy.
Earl Gardner Sheley was born March 31, 1884, and died at his home in Burr Oak, Aug. 11, 1910, being twenty-six years, four months and ten days old.
Earl was born in Burr Oak and lived the greater part of his life here. Though brief his life teaches us lessons of patience and hopefulness. As he grew from boyhood to manhood he developed those traits of character which made him the loving and faithful son that he was. He was one who liked everybody and in turn everybody liked him. He was a believer in and an example of a pure, clean life. A lover of the Bible, he often begged during the last few weeks of his life that the Bible might be read to him. He will be greatly missed in the home, for he was a home loving boy.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 23, 1884 which does not agree with the above.
