OBITUARY.
OLE HEGTVEDT.
Ole Hegtvedt, one of the pioneer Norwegians of Decorah and Glenwood township, died Monday evening at his home in the eastern part of Decorah township, in his sixty-ninth year.
Mr. Hegtvedt was born in Tillemarken, Norway, and came to America with his parents about fifty-two years ago. They came direct to this county and Decorah and the deceased has ever since made this his home. In the fall of 1868 he was married to Annie Baker. Fourteen children were born to them. The oldest son is dead. The surviving children are John of Glenwood township, Martin and Cyrus, residing in North Dakota, Mrs. Erick Vick of Calmar, Mrs. Arthur Hubbard of Hastings, Minn., Mrs. Clarence Lambert of Gettisburg, S. S., Tina, Amanda, Clara, Ella, Edmund Andrew and Leanard at home. Three sisters and one brother also survive. They are Miss Annie Hegtvedt Mrs. Mary Hoch and Mrs. Austin Larson of Decorah, and Egil Hegtvedt of Chatoc, Wis.
Mr. Hegtvedt was a member of the United Lutheran church, an industrious and upright citizen. The funeral will be held to-morrow, service at 10:30 at the house, followed by service at the United church in Decorah at two o’clock and interment in the Norwegian cemetery. Rev. K. E. Bakken will officiate.
