Mrs. Frank Skoda nee Mary Maresh, died at her home in this city on Tuesday, June 14th, after an illness of three years’ duration. Marh Maresh was born at Krenovice, Bohemia, in 1854, where her childhood days were spent, On Sept. 6, 1876, she was united in marriage to Frank Skoda in this city, where they have resided ever since. This union was blessed with eight children, Mary, Joseph, Anna, John, Frank and Emma. William and Edward having been called to the Great Beyond several years ago. The funeral services were held Thursday at 10:00 a. m., from the family residence and then from St. John’s church The pall bearers were Messes. Mat Houdek, F. A. Schreiber, J. J. Kubish, Jas. Sattler, John Wandas and John Hronek. In the death of Mrs. Skoda the family keenly feel the loss of a loving wife and mother, and a true and faithful friend, beloved by all who had the honor of her acquaintance. These from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Svoboda, Mr. and Mrs. Skoda, all from Preston.
