Mrs. John Seegmiller was called to Spillville by the death of her father, Mr. Michalec. She returned Friday.

Mrs. Seegmiller of Decorah was called here Wednesday by the death of her father Mr. Michalek.

John Michalek died Wednesday, the 25th at his home in Spillville, at the age of 78 years. The funeral was held Friday, the 27th, from the St. Wenceslaus church, Father Broz officiating. Mr. Michalek was a resident of Spillville for about 40 years, following his trade as shoemaker. He was a good citizen. He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Mrs. john Seegmiller of Decorah and Mrs. Fr. Poshusta of Calmar.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in St. Wenceslaus shows the spelling as Jan Michalek.
