Death of Josh Lantry.
Through Jesse Gregg we learn that Joahua Lantry died about two weeks ago at his home in Minneapolis. Mr. Lantry was well known years ago when he ran the engine on the Decorah branch of the Milwaukee road and resided in what is now the Miller residence near the turn table. For the past two years his health was poor, being only able to make his run on the fast mail from Minneapolis to LaCrosse. After serving the Milwaukee road faithfully for many years he was quietly dropped but not discharged, but simply was not notified when to take out an engine. Mr. Gregg took the matter up with one of the officers of the company and advocated a recognition of his service by a pension. The office agreed that something of the sort should be done but before the red tape could be unwound death stepped in.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows that he was born March 8, 1839 but that he died April 10, 1910. This does not agree with the above or a newspaper report of May 7 which says he died a week earlier which would have been April 30. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN
