THE SILENT REAPER.
GULBRAND E. VIK.
Gulbrand E. Vik, an old and well known resident of Winneshiek county, passed away last week Wednesday morning at his home in Madison township, death resulting from a stroke of apoplexy sustained in May last. Mr. Vik was born in Vestre Slidre, Valders, Norway, on Aug. 11, 1825, and came to America in 1851. He resided in Wisconsin for a few months and then came to Winneshiek county, where he has since lived. He is survived by his wife and six children.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1826, which does not agree with the above, and died Jan. 12, 1910. He is buried in the Union Prairie Cemetery.
