H. Orvella, one of the pioneer settlers of Springfield township, passed away at his home Monday, Jan. 3, after a lingering illness from asthma. He leaves to mourn his loss five children. Ole, Theodore and Marie of this place, Mrs. Flakna of Minneapolis and Mrs. Thompson of California.

Old Springfield Resident Dead.
Hans Thorson Orvella died last week and was buried on Friday. He was one of the old and substantial residents of Springfield township whose memory will be honored by many acquaintances.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Aug. 28. 1826 and died Jan. 3, 1910. He is buried in the Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
