FRED COMSTOCK DEAD.
Was an Early Day Resident of Decorah, Coming Here in 1855--Lived 30 Years in Colorado.
Through a copy of the Arapahoe Herald of Nov. 27th we learn of the death on Nov. 24th of Fred Comstock of Littleton, Colo., one of the early settlers of Decorah. Mr. Comstock was born in Jefferson county, N. Y., in February, 1821. At the age of seventeen he moved to St. Lawrence county where he attained his majority and continued to reside until 1855, when he came to Decorah, engaging in blacksmithing, farming and hotel keeping, being landlord of the Winneshiek. In 1878 he moved to Littleton, Colo, where he has since resided.
On Nov. 9, 1844, Mr. Comstock was married to Orra Spaulding, and they were permitted to spent more than sixty-three years together before death separated them. Mrs. Comstock died on April 18, 1908. Three sons were born to them—George and Harry who reside at Littleton, and Charles who lives in New York.
The Herald says the funeral was held on Nov. 29th, being conducted by Weston Lodge, No. 22, A. F. & A. M., of which Mr. Comstock had been an honored member for many years.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Feb. 8, 1821 and died Nov. 24, 1909. He is buried in the Littleton Cemetery in Littleton, CO.
