May{sic} Louise Rushman was born in Clayton county, Iowa, Oct. 22, 1877. Died Oct, 23, 1909, in her home in Castalia, after an illness of less than a week. She was married to J. C. Steinhelber Sept. 6th, 1904. As a result of this union, one son, Donald, was born. The deceased is survived by the husband, son, mother, father, and three sisters and three brothers. She was an active member of the U. B. church; also a member of the Degree of Honor lodge and was universally respected by all. She was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, ever ready to speak a good work or do a kind act. The funeral occurred from the U. B. church Monday Oct. 25. Rev. Penn preached the funeral sermon and the D. of H lodge performed the ceremonies at the grave. The body was interred in the Pleasant View cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Pleasant View Cemetery shows the year of her death as 1910 which obviously is in error as this was printed in the 1909 newspaper. It also shows her name as Mary
