Mrs. A. J. Beisly Dead.
The Mabel Enterprise says Mrs. A. J. Beisly died at her home near Hesper, Iowa, October 22, after an illness of scarcely more than a day’s duration. Deceased was a highly esteemed citizen, and her death will be mourned by her husband and a large number of friends who have known her for many years.

Last Thursday morning the community was pained to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. A. Beisley after an illness of only one or two days. Although not entering largely into the life of the neighborhood, being well content with the company of each other, their books and magazines, in their pleasant farm home, they have always been held in the highest esteem by the entire community during their thirty years’ residence among us, and those who have been privileged to know Mrs. Beisley more closely have found her a most charming woman. The funeral services were held Sunday morning at the house and later at the Friends church, at the hour of morning services, Rev. H. C. Carter conducting the service and reading the Episcopal service at the grave. Mr. Beisley will probably return to his old home in England this fall. Bessie Jane Forty was born August 9, 1848, in Shilingford, England, and was married to A. J. Beisley Aug. 14, 1879. She came to Hesper, Iowa, with her husband in 1879, and has lived here ever since. She died October 21st, 1909.

Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways. Find a Grave shows her name spelled Beisly. She is buried in the Hesper Public Cemetery. It also shows she was born in 1850 which does not agree with the above.
