The following obituary was handed us:--“Frances Naomi Stiles was born at Whitesville, N. Y., Feb. 8, 1847 and died at Castalia, Iowa, Aug. 1, 1909. She came with her parents to Postville, Iowa, in 1855. Was married to John McMartin Oct. 22, 1865. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Marion Burns of Castalia, Iowa, and Chester C. McMartin of West Union, Iowa. These with five brothers, Warren Lon, Noel, Elbert and Arthur and three sisters, Mrs. James Gordon, Mrs. James McEwen and Mrs. Charles Skelton and gve{sic} grandchildren survive her. The funeral occurred from the U. B. church Tuesday at 2:30 p. m., the Rev. Penn officiating. The church was well filled by friends and neighbors who attended to pay their last respects to the dead. The body was interred in Pleasant View cemetery.
