THE SILENT REAPER.
Death Claims Several Old Residents During the Past Week.

MRS. PHOEBE OVERACKER.
Mrs. Phoebe Overacker, who has been a resident of Decorah for 35 years, died Saturday morning at ten o’clock. Mrs. Overacker’s maiden name was Phoebe Odell and she was born March 3d in Cattaraugus county, N. Y. Her husband, Joseph Overacker, passed away seven years ago. Of a large family of children, four survive, two daughters and two sons. On July 17, 1892, Mrs. Overacker was baptized into the Baptist church by Rev. Henry Grant, and she has been a faithful member of that denomination. During most of her life she has been a hard working woman of kindly disposition, and by those who knew her best her death will be greatly regretted. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon by Rev. Grant, a brief service at the house preceding the public service at the church at three o’clock.
