A number of the old soldiers were down from Decorah to attend the funeral of Mr. Hutchinson

Mr. and Mrs. Riley if Fostoria, Iowa, who came to be present at the funeral of Mrs. Riley’s father, Mr. Hutchinson, spent Sunday at the home of C. Skinner.

Word was received last Thursday of the death of Nicholas Hutchinson at the home of his daughter Mrs. Riley of Fostoria, Iowa. The remains were brought to this place for burial, the funeral being held from the M. E. church Saturday morning. Mr. Hutchinson and family were old-time residents of Freeport and the bereaved children have the sympathy of many friends here in the loss of a kind and loving father.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the incorrect date of death; however, it shows he is buried in the Freeport Cemetery. Freeport Cemetery shows he was born May 16, 1833 and died June 16, 1909. It also shows the name is spelled Hutchison.
