Through the courtesy of S. C. Brace of Mabel, Minn., I am in receipt of the news of the death of another former resident of Burr Oak, that of Silas A. Lamb, who was one of our citizens in the early 60’s. He moved from here to Hesper and his sister Miss Abby Lamb came from Cattaraugus county, N. Y., which was their paternal home and had boarding in his family and attended school. Miss Lamb afterwards became Mrs. Augustus Meader. For some years they have both been residents of Denver, Colo., and Mr. Lamb’s death occurred there Feb. 16th. He is survived by his widow who was one of the West family living south of Burr Oak in the early days. We insert this in these items because we are sure there are many of the old setters that will kindly remember Mr. Lamb.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Jan. 11, 1834 and died Feb. 25, 1909.{This doesn't agree with the above date.} He is buried in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO.
