Cora Barker Craig Dead.
Word came to Decorah friends on Thursday last of the death of Cora Barker Craig at Sioux falls. The facts regarding her death were given in a telegram to the St. Paul Pioneer Press of Friday last, which said:
Sioux Falls, S. D., Oct 15.—Cora Barker craig, wife of C. H. Craig, for sixteen years city editor of the Sioux Falls Daily Argus Leader, died to-day as the result of a stroke of apoplexy, sustained Tuesday afternoon. She was unconscious from that time until her death. She was a Decorah, Iowa, girl, and married Mr. Craig in 1884, coming to Sioux Falls at once. She is survived by Mr. Craig and two children, Mrs. Leo Symms of Lemars, Iowa, and Van Craig, aged sixteen. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon.
The Argus Leader, speaking of the deceased, said:--
Mrs. Craig was one of those women who had few interests outside of her own home. She was a devoted wife, a wise and beloved mother, a good neighbor, and a loyal friend. Without trying to make a stir in the world she did her duty day by day and year by year, and she leaves as an inheritance to her family and friends the example of a noble woman, devoted to the welfare of others and worthy in every relation of life. Her sudden death will be learned with keenest sorrow in many homes. Hundreds of people in the city will join with the Argus Leader in expressing their deepest sorrow over the death of the good wife and the noble mother—which means, in its last analysis—the sweetest being in the world. Mr. and Mrs. Craig had many friends here in Decorah, and much sympathy is felt for the bereaved ones in their loss.
