Huber, Albert P 1894 - 1918

Albert Huber was born Dec. 11, 1894 and was in the first draft, but was exempted for agricultural reasons. After the crops were harvested he returned his exemption, waived all exemption claims and left with the second contingent on Feb. 23, 1918. He was stationed at Camp Dodge about one month and at Camp Sevier, So. Carolina, about one month. Sailed from Camp Mills, N.Y. And arrived in England May 20. On July 15th he was in the front line trenches in Belgium. Later he was shifted south where he took part in the great Cambria drive from about Sept. 25 until he was struck down by a large shell on Oct. 8th, near a small town, Estresse, France. He is survived by his mother, four brothers and four sisters, Joe, Leo, of this place, Fred of Quinton, Okla. and Mike who was with him and is still in service, Mrs. Will Lansing and Mrs. Herman Hemesath of Ossian, Iowa, Mrs. D.J. Cassidy of Mora, N.M. And Sister M. Philip of Chicago. His mother at present is spending the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Cassidy of Mora, N.M.
