Obituary.
Miss Lavina Hazel was born in Pennsylvania Aug. 11, 1824, and moved to Ohio with her parents where, in 1845, she was married to Mr. Oliver Kinyon of Suffield, Ohio. To this union nine children were born of whom eight survive and were all here to minister to her wants in her last sickness. They were Mrs. Anna Reed, Mrs. Sarah Smalley, Mrs. Emma Fredenburg, Mrs. Amanda Watts, Mrs. Rosa Richert, Newton, Henry and Perry Kinyon; also two sisters,-- Mrs. Samantha Smith and Mrs. Liddia Camp. Mrs. Kinyon had a stroke of paralysis May 15, 1908, from which she did not recover. She died Aug. 29, 1908, at the home of her daughter Mrs. J. C. Fredenburg, at the age of 84 years, 18 days. Leaving the above named to mourn the loss of a kind and beloved mother. In her girlhood she was baptized and united with the Episcopal church and died trusting in the Lord. Funeral services were held at the Advent church at Burr Oak, Monday afternoon, Aug. 30, 1908, at 2 o’clock, Rev. Van Buren officiating, and her remains were laid to rest in the Burr Oak cemetery.

A previous mother from us had gone,
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.

God in his wisdom has recalled
The boon his love has given,
And though the body moulders here,
The soul is save in Heaven.
MRS. J. C. FREDENBURGH
Card of Thanks.

We wish to thank all of the friends and neighbor for their kindness and help in the time of our bereavement and to those who gave the flowers

Another pioneer has gone from our midst. Mrs. Oliver Kinyon{sic) died Aug. 29th. Funeral in the Advent church to-day and attended by a large number of people. Mrs. Kinyon came to this vicinity over fifty years ago. She has been sick for a long time, and was tenderly cared for by her children. The Kinyons: Clark, John and Oliver, all early settlers with their wives, are dead, but are kindly remembered by all who knew them.
