Word comes to Burr Oak from Vegreville, Alta, Canada, that Mrs. Levi Turner died at that place Aug. 10. Mrs. Turner formerly lived in Burr Oak and was very much respected. She was Clara Ellen Scofield, born Jan. 6, 1859{?}, in Shelbyville, Ind. Married in Red Willow, Neb. Apr. 10, 1875, to Levi Turner. Came to Winneshiek county, Iowa, in 1883, and in 1902 they made a home in Canada. They have four children, Ernest, living in Alta. Cloe Kline in Moville, Iowa, Roy and Myrtle at home. One brother, James Scofield, was with her for several weeks previous to her death. Mrs. Turner was a kind and loving mother and wife, always willing to help others, very patient during her sickness, and will be greatly missed by all.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Riverside Cemetery in Vegreville, Alberta, Canada shows she was born in 1857.
