John Merrick, an aged settler of Calmar, died Sunday evening at the home of his son. The funeral was held at the Catholic church Monday morning.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled Meirick. He was born Oct. 15, 1821 and died July 26, 1908. He is buried in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
