To-day at the Canoe Lutheran church occurred the funeral of William N.{? Holkesvik, who passed away on Tuesday of last week from diabetes. William was the next oldest son of Nels Holkesvik, who resides a mile west of Locust. He was a promising young man of sterling qualities, and up to a couple of years ago was of a rugged build and looking the pink of health. But the dread disease became evident, and it was soon realized that it was only a question of time when the result would attain which we have above chronicled. It is sad to see such a promising life pass away but we are happy to know he died in the faith which insured to him a continued enjoyment of heavenly happiness and comfort.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 25, 1885 and died June 10, 1908. He is buried in the Big Canoe Lutheran Cemetery. It shows his middle name as Henry
