MAGNUS
Word came to Decorah Monday morning that Samuel Magnus of Lincoln township had passed away Sunday evening. Mr. Magnus’ death was due to Bright’s disease, we are told. He has been prominent in local politics, having served on the Board of Supervisors. He was a veteran of the Civil War and enjoyed the respect of a wide acquaintance earned during his long residence in the county.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 8, 1844 and died Feb. 10, 1906- obviously this is in error. It shows he is buried in United Lutheran Cemetery records and it shows he died in 1908.
