Mary McCann was born in Whitlow county, Ireland, Feb. 22, 1817. She went to England where she remained some time and, while there, was married to Patrick Tully July 13, 1865. In August, the same year, they came to America and settled in Boston, Mass. March 13, 1867, they moved to Allamakee county, Iowa, where they lived until about ten years ago when they removed to Frankville, where she died Monday, Jan. 27, 1908, at the age of 90 years, 11 mos., and 5 days. In her early childhood she united with the Methodist church in Ireland and has always remained true to her faith. She was of a cheerful disposition, and many there are who will remember the pleasant hours passed with her and regret that they will see her no more. A kind and affectionate wife, a good neighbor and a true friend. She leaves an aged husband, a number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the M. E. church, Rev. Smith of Postville officiating and she was laid at rest in the village cemetery by the side of her sister Mrs. Robt. Waters. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved ones.
