Another Old Settler Gone.
Erick Bakke, one of the best known of the early Norwegian settlers of Winneshiek county, died early last Thursday morning at his home in the south part of Decorah township in his 84th year. The funeral was held Saturday morning, brief services at the home of T. O. Storla at 11 o’clock preceding the public services at Rev. V. Koren’s church at 12:30.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born April 1, 1825 and died Jan. 30. 1908. He is buried in the Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
