William Webjornson, one of Madison township's oldest pioneers, passed away suddenly last Wednesday morning, March 4, 1931, at the age of 87 years.
He was born at Toten, Norway, December 10, 1843, and was the oldest son of Webjorn and Pauline Maria Webjornson. In 1864 he came to America with his parents and the family settled in Glenwood township. On November 2, 1869, he was united in marriage to Helena Engen Bolson. Eight children were born to this union, Lewis, who passed away April, 1924, Helmer and Albert of Chicago, Theodore, Hans, Hilda (Mrs. Adolph Berg) and Lena (Mrs. Elling Hellen) of Milnor, N.D. and two step children, Josephine (Mrs. Joseph Counsell) who passed away in March, 1928, and John Jacobson of Kindred, N.D. Mrs. Webjornson passed away July 23, 1928. Besides his children he is survived by a brother, Sigvard, one sister, Mrs. Maria Engen, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the home and the United Lutheran church of which he was a member. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery. Rev. Glesne officiated at the services.
