Wm. Barthell, Jr., Dead.
After an illness of several years from rheumatism which finally developed into Bright’s disease, William Paul Barthell, the oldest living son of Wm. and Mrs. Leticia Barthell, died Tuesday morning, having been confined to his bed since last July. Mr. Barthell was born in Glenwood township April 15, 1866, but most of his life has been spent in Decorah and St. Paul. He was engaged here for a number of years in the livery business and it was while pursuing the duties attendant thereto that he contracted rheumatism. After disposing of his business he made St. Paul his home until early last summer when he came back to Decorah.
He is survived by his parents, one sister and four brothers. The funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon at 2 p. m. at the house, Rev. I. B. Torrison officiating, with interment in Phelps cemetery. Rev. M. Willett will conduct the service at the grave.
Deceased had many friends in his boyhood home whose sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones.
