The notes for the following obituary were sent in too late for use last week but should have been given in connection with the notice of the funeral of Mrs. Johnson: Miss Lillie Mae Meader was born in Hesper, Iowa, Jan. 14, 1870, and passed away at Denver, Colo., Dec. 27, 1907. On November 16, 1887, she was united in marriage with Edgar S. Johnson. One son, Leonard Augustus, was born to them, who with her husband survive to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother, Until 1902 they made their home in Hesper township, then in Mabel until 1906. In the latter year they moved to Denver, in hope of benefit to Mrs. Johnson’s health. The change proved beneficial for a time but at last God took her home to be at rest.

On the 28th the sad news came of the death at Denver of Mrs. May Meader-Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was in a private hospital where she had been operated on for appendicitis, but bronchitis set in with fatal results, and she was relieved from pain on the morning of the 28th. The remains of Mrs. Mae Meader-Johnson were brought from Denver for interment in the Hesper cemetery and the funeral service was held in Mabel on the afternoon of the 3d, Rev. Mr. Tibbetts, a former pastor, assisted by Rev. John Lowe and Rev. T. L. Seager, officiating. The large attendance and the profusion of beautiful flowers were but a slight token of the respect and esteem for Mrs. Johnson by all who knew her. Among those in attendance were Mrs. Johnson’s husband, E. S. Johnson, and son Leonard Johnson and her mother Mrs. Abbie Meader, of Denver, Mrs. A. H. Meader and Mr. and Mrs. R. L.
