Keith Allyn Averill, age 58, a recent resident of Reno, Nev., and formerly of Decorah, died suddenly in Cali, Columbia, on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021.

A private family memorial service will be held. Burial will be in Cali, Columbia.

Born on April 18, 1963, in Decorah, Iowa, to Richard and Grace Averill, Keith enjoyed spending time camping and traveling with his family in his younger years. During high school, Keith ran cross country and track and really excelled in these sports. He placed at state meets numerous times, and he also ran in college. Keith graduated from Decorah High School in 1981, and in 1988 he completed a Bachelor of Arts Communication Degree at Biola University in La Mirada, Calif. Throughout his life, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time outdoors. During his professional career, Keith worked for several different business/investment firms, and he also worked independently on some private business ventures.

Keith is survived by his daughter, Grace Karuna Averill of Reno, Nev.; three siblings: Lynn (Nathan) Emmons of Barron, Wis., David Averill of Decatur, Ind., and Rebecca (Douglas) Cherry of New Lenox, Ill.; numerous nephews and nieces, and other extended family members.

Keith was predeceased in death by his parents Richard Averill on Sept. 12, 2015, and Grace Averill on Oct. 7, 2020
