Clayton Willard Vick of 1518 14½ St. Rock Island, Ill. and a former Decorah resident, died October 22 at the Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island. He was 48.

Clayton Vick was born October 2, 1927 in Decorah, the son of Oscar and Florence Hovey Vick. He attended schools in Decorah and was married August 4, 1949 in Decorah to Marilyn Andrus.

He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge and Post No. 1303, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rock Island.

He moved to Rock Island in 1952 and had been employed at Alcoa for 23 years as a sheer operator.

Mr. Vick is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Weybright and Mrs. Patricia Swank, both of Rock Island; a son, Pvt. Timothy Vick, serving with the Army at Ft. Ord, Calif.; a granddaughter; five brothers, Herbert, Mason City, Vernon and Frank Vick, both of Decorah, Robert, Waterloo, and Harold, Scottsdale, Ariz. and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Rose and Dorothy Halse, both of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Wheelan Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Bader, pastor of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
