Funeral services for Oren E. Anderson, Highland Township farmer, were held Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Big Canoe Lutheran Church. Mr. Anderson, who was a life-long resident of the county, died September 7 at his farm home at the age of 54.

Pastor Oscar Engebretson conducted final rites. Burial was in Big Canoe Lutheran Cemetery with Donald Flatin, Gregory McKernan, James McKernan, Randall McKernan, Stanley McKernan and Ronald McKernan serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Ransome Bolson was organist, and Austin Moen was soloist. Funeral arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, the former Ella M. Barth, daughter of John Barth of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Leslie Anderson of Highland Township and a sister, Mrs. John (Lois) Walker of LaCrosse, Wis.

Mr. Anderson was born June 16, 1921 in Hesper, the son of Alfred and Lena Anderson, both of whom are deceased. He received his education in the Hesper schools and served in the army in World War II. He was married March 24, 1946 at Glenwood Church parsonage.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Big Canoe Lutheran Church.
