Nulty, Carl James 1896 - 1972

Carl James Nulty, retired superintendent of the Fort Atkinson Public Schools, died at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital August 28 at the age of 76. Mr. Nulty had made his home in Calmar, and funeral services for him were held this morning (Thursday) at St. Aloysius Church in Calmar. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Lawler.

Pallbearers were James Huber, James Herold, Fred Boettcher, Alex Mihm, Joseph Rausch and Clem Reicks. Father Steiert conducted final rites.

Mr. Nulty is survived by a son, Carl Thomas Nulty of New Hampton; two daughters, Lugene (Mrs. Edward Kuhn), Winona, Minn. and Madonna (Mrs. Carl Bushman) of Fountain City, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Ben Nulty, Lawler, and one sister, Mrs. Marie Shekleton, Peoria, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died several years ago, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Nulty.

Carl Nulty was born July 25, 1896 in Lawler. He was a member of the American Legion, St. Aloysius Church and the Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral arrangements were made by French Funeral Home of Calmar.
