Born on August 15, 2003, in Decorah, Iowa, Karter is the son of Ryan and Michelle (Berge) Einck. Karter grew up in Decorah and was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church where he was a member.

Karter was a senior at Decorah High School and was preparing to attend college at Iowa Central Community College and had plans to transfer to UNI to study Business. During his time in high school, he participated in speech, cross-country, bowling and many other activities. Karter was a captain for cross-country and bowling teams.

Karter was a 4-year member of the Decorah FFA Chapter and a 9 year member of the Glenwood 4-H club. In 4-H he held several offices in his club. During his time in FFA Karter was the chapter secretary, Growing Leaders Division Chair, and the Economic Development Committee chair. He spent his summers at his other home “the Luzum farm” where he raised chickens and sheep. He had a love for chickens especially his rooster, Rufio. Karter trained dogs for 4-H. He spent quality hours with Snoopy, Pugsly, Lucy and Remi working with them to show at the county fair. Karter spent his summers working with Don mowing and weeding the Lutheran cemetery. Karter most currently started working at the bowling alley and he loved this new adventure.

In his free time Karter enjoyed spending time with his animals. He loved fishing, playing video games and hanging out at the “hick house” playing cards and just being with friends.

Karter was that person everyone looked up to. He was kind, caring, and a leader. Karter knew what he wanted to do and was not afraid to try anything. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and his one liners.

Karter will continue to help people by being an organ and tissue donor.
