Funeral services for Raymond J. Sexton, 48, of 404 John St., Decorah, will be held today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Catholic Church here with Father A.P. White, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bridget's cemetery, Bluffton.

Mr. Sexton, a postal employee here for the past 12 years, died last Saturday, Sept. 23 at Winneshiek County Memorial hospital in Decorah.

Born Feb. 19, 1924, in the Bluffton area of Winneshiek County, he attended rural schools and the Ridgeway public schools. He farmed until moving into Decorah 17 years ago. The deceased was a veteran of World War II, including overseas service with the Army in the European Theare. He is a past commander of the VFW. Raymond Sexton married Betty Malli Nov. 24, 1948, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Plymouth Rock. She survives as do four children, including three sons, Lawarence of Tucson, Ariz., Gary and Donald at home, and one daughter, Ann, at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Sam (Mary) Cassel of Bluffton, and three brothers, Marvin and Parnell Sexton of Burr Oak and Robert of Marion, Iowa. His father, Steven, and one brother, Donald, preceded him in death.

A Rosary service was held Sunday night and a prayer service Monday night at Steine Funeral Home, which was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers at the funeral were Francis Sexton, Harold Cronin, Waldo Kalsow, Earl Sexton, James McConnell, and Roger Lundvedt. Sister Sharon was soloist.

Mr. Sexton was a member of St. Benedict;s parish here in Decorah.
