Clara (Busta) Kuhn was born December 7, 1921 to parents Charles and Rose (Kovar) Busta in rural Fort Atkinson and attended local schools. During her early years she helped on the farm and assisted with the care giving of her elderly grandparents living with the family. On February 3, 1941 she married Paul Kuhn and they lived on the Kuhn farm home place for 15 years near Jackson Junction and cared for Paul’s father, Anton, until the mid-1950s. At that time Paul built the Allis Chalmers implement business on the outskirts of Fort Atkinson and they moved to a new home on the adjacent property. In the 1960s they built another home near the business and in 1978 they built their retirement home in Fort Atkinson. They enjoyed a few years of semi-retirement and travel until the untimely death of Paul in 1983. Through the years Clara enjoyed quilting, embroidering, playing cards, and for many years belonged to bowling leagues and enjoyed golfing with friends. Clara and her family attended St. Johns Nepomucene Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson where she was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and active in many church activities. For many years she enjoyed the company of other senior citizens at the Fort Atkinson meal site. Due to failing eyesight she moved to Wellington Place in Decorah in May of 2013. She made many new friends and enjoyed a variety of activities.
