Gayle Dick, 81, of Hills, Iowa and formerly of Decorah, Iowa, peacefully passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at Atrium Village in Hills.

Gayle Kathleen (Odegard) Dick was born April 24, 1940, to Anton “Tony” and Eleanor (Abrahamson) Odegard in Milnor, ND. Gayle graduated from Milnor High School in 1959.

Gayle married Kurtis “Kurt” Dick on April 24, 1964. They had two daughters, Stefanie and Leslie. They lived in northeast Iowa (Dubuque, West Union, Elkader and Decorah) for over 40 years. Gayle loved to cook, garden, read and complete word puzzles. In recent years, Gayle made her home at Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa where she loved to participate in all activities.

Gayle is survived by her daughter Stefanie (Rod) Sersland of Ainsworth, IA; grandson Alex Sersland of Minneapolis, MN; daughter Leslie (John) Frank of Anthem, AZ; grandson Zach Frank of Tempe, AZ; brothers Eugene (Joanne) Odegard of Roseville, MN and Sherman (Helen) Odegard of Alamo, CA; brother-in-law Dale Torreson of Milnor, ND; and sisters in law Edy Odegard of Cottage Grove, MN and Yvonne (Richard) Anderson of Starbuck, MN.

Gayle was preceded in death by her husband Kurt Dick on March 9, 2012; parents Tony and Eleanor Odegard; sisters Delores Kjar, Luanna Torreson and Joanne Odegard; brothers Duane Odegard and Donavon Odegard; and brother-in-law Adolph Kjar.

There will be a family graveside service on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Phelps Cemetery in Decorah, Iowa.

Memorial donations may be made to Atrium Village, 117 S. 3rd Street, Hills, IA 52235.
