Van Dale Vine, 78, of Macomb, Ill. (formerly of Decorah) died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at his residence. Memorial services were April 15 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb, with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Interment will be private.
Van was born Sept. 22, 1928 in Decorah to Arthur J and Millicent A. Anderson Vine. He married Mary Elizabeth Wiseman Jan. 21, 1949 in Alameda, Calif.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb, enjoyed square dancing and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping and gardening. He was a Navy veteran.
Van is survived by his wife; three daughters, Marcia Wilkinson of St. Louis, Miss., Barbara Wiseman of Graettinger and Sandra Vine of Des Moines; one son, Alan (Patricia) Vine of Mosinee, Wis.; six grandchildren: Ryan Bradford, Michelle Bradford, Austin Noble, Callie, Blake, Shane Vine; three great grandchildren, Logan, Sierra and Allison, and one brother, Jon Vine of Decorah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Memorials mayh be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
